Nima Darius Parsa

Product designer based in San Francisco

I lead end-to-end designs that establish human-machine trust in autonomous mobility, physical AI, HITL dev tools.

Darius Parsa is a staff product designer, an unofficial historical linguist, and a persistent reader of medieval and late antiquity texts. He studied product and transportation design, which is how he ended up designing for autonomous machines that move on their own.

Over the past nine years Darius has designed end to end at Gatik AI, Amazon Web Services, Think Round, Mody Data Solutions, and CUT VR, twice as the founding designer. He has spent that career on one problem: human–autonomy interaction, the layer where a machine’s behavior becomes something a person can read, trust, and take back control of. At Gatik he was the founding designer on the largest driver-out freight network in the United States, owning the interaction model, the research, and the design system across remote supervision, simulation, and field operations work that moved safe operator span of control from four trucks to fifteen.

He also mentors through ADPList and Designlab and was named one of ADPList’s Top 100 design mentors, mostly working with designers trying to move into AI and robotics.

  • Nima was such a wonderful and easy designer to work with. Not only does he adopt new processes quickly, he gives it his 100%, with extra attention to details, always ready to ask questions, and jumps at the opportunity to help solve very complex issues. It was wonderful working with you at AWS, Nima! Any team who has you would be lucky!

Lisa Lam, UX Designer, Amazon Redshift

  • Nima was an incredible mentor! As I took on my 1st freelance project, I needed guidance on how to navigate the process and approach the client effectively. He provided invaluable insights on negotiation, defining the scope of work, structuring service packages, and preparing for client meetings. He even shared a blueprint for outlining a scope of work, which I'll use as a base. He also recommended additional resources for finding freelance opportunities. I'm excited to continue learning from him
